Google Is Changing the Rules: Old Websites Will Stop Working on Phones.
New Technologies
Google has gradually been shifting websites toward a mobile-first priority for several years. Websites built 3-5 years ago often no longer meet modern requirements - they load slowly and are inconvenient on phones. Starting in June 2026, Google will stop supporting outdated front-end technologies, which means websites built more than two years ago may stop displaying correctly on smartphones: elements may shift and buttons may stop working. In simple terms, Google updated its rendering engine because of the heavy load on servers that previously spent a great deal of time and resources processing older websites.
